Chaîné turns
(sheh-nay turns)
Pronunciation
A basic step. This is your first turning step. A series of rapid turns done in a circle or a straight line, one half turn on each foot. Also called deboules. This step introduces you to spotting, where you look at one spot (head high) then snap your head around on each turn. Do it right and you will not get dizzy. Good turners spot very well. Your hair must be put up tightly so it will not get in your eyes or cause distraction. A must step to learn. They can be so fast they're dazzling. Chaîné Turns.
