Can be used to describe a step or a position. A cutting step. A small intermediary step done as a preparation for some other step. The pointed foot is placed in front of the supporting ankle or behind. A step in which the supporting foot is replaced by the working foot. Coupé can also be used to describe the position of the foot, either front or back of the ankle with the toes pointed. Jump Coupé front, back, front, Assemblé back, and reverse.
