A brush jump step. This is the most used step in ballet. It's a connecting step and is even taught to the 5 year olds in a simple form. Can be done many ways. A most versatile step. It means to glide and can precede most center steps. The most used one starts in fifth and ends in fifth. Right foot front demi-plié and brush left foot to the side, transfer weight and point and brush right foot to fifth front. It can be done many ways, from an open or closed position and changing feet or not. You must master this step as quickly as possible. Glissade to fourth front (quatrieme en avant).
