A basic movement. Can be taught as early as eight or nine years old. Look at one spot while turning. Spotting is what a dancer does to keep from getting dizzy and losing their balance. Let your body turn while you keep looking at one spot about head high. Then snap your head around back to the exact spot when it won't stay in front any longer. This is a must for all dancers. It does take practice to coordinate the head at the right time. All good turners have a sharp and accurate spot. Spotting starts with chaÓné turns. Spotting with chaÓné turns.
